Inshore red drum, black drum, flounder, speckled trout, gray trout, Virginia mullet, blowfish, black bass & croaker.

Fishing tip of the week: The water temperature is dropping fast. The fishing is still good, but will slow down fast. This should be a good time for surf fishing. Keep fishing & stay safe.

Affordable Charters Fishing Report 10-10-08

October 10th, 2008 by SFTC Press

In the surf nice size bluefish, spots, small croaker, pompano, flounder, red drum, black drum, & Virginia mullet.

On the piers spots, croaker, Virginia mullet, bluefish, sheepshead, flounder, & gray trout.

Inshore lots of speckled trout & gray trout are starting to show up. Also catching red drum, flounder, black drum, blowfish & pigfish.

Offshore top water king mackerel, & Spanish mackerel. On the bottom red & gag grouper, grunts, snapper, black bass, pinkies & ringtail.

Fishing tip of the week: It’s that time of year when the shrimp are heading out so it’s a good time to start fishing at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Gray trout are starting to show up as well as whiting & blowfish. I have found fishing the falling tide produces the best catch. Keep fishing & stay safe
