In the surf reports of a few red drum & speckled trout caught on Masonboro Island.

Inshore speckled trout, a few gray trout, red drum, black drum, striped bass, & catfish.

Offshore no report, very windy.

Fishing tip of the week: This is that time of year when fishing has slowed down but still 07 was a very productive year. It’s a good time to get your boat & fishing gear in ship shape.

There is a new 30 minute fishing program every Sunday morning at 8:00 on Fox. It features local native Captain Andy Everhart & is called Southern Sportfishing. His show covers everything from offshore, inshore, & surf fishing. He gives great fishing tips & the best thing about his show is that it is filmed right here in our local waters. Jerry Hammel caught this beautiful Speckled trout while fishing in the surf.

In the surf very slow this past week. A few reports of speckled trout & some small red drum.

Inshore still catching a nice variety. Speckled trout, a few grey trout, some red drum, very small Virginia mullet, croaker, still a few stripped bass & catfish in the Cape Fear river north.

Offshore on the bottom grouper, snapper, & black bass.
