Affordable Charters Fishing Report 11-25-07

November 25th, 2007 by SFTC Press

In the surf it’s been pretty good. Large bluefish, some small & large Virginia mullet, a few spots, croaker, red & black drum, speckled trout, & a few flounder.

Inshore gray & speckled trout, red & black drum, Virginia mullet, flounder, black bass, bluefish, croaker, stingray, blowfish & pigfish.

On the piers some good reports of Virginia mullet, croaker, pompano, small red drum, bluefish, & a few small flounder.

Offshore on the bottom some nice size black bass, snapper, grouper, scamps, grunt, & ringtail.

Fishing tip of the week: In the past few weeks we have caught a lot of gray trout in the river channel in 20 to 30 foot of strong current. I use a #2 hook drop rig with a 2 or 3 ounce sinker with strips of cut bait. Be sure you hook your bait on the very end so it will look like it is swimming. Lower it to the bottom & keep it moving up & down without reeling it up. This will be very productive. Keep fishing & stay safe.

On the piers a few spots, Virginia mullet, croaker, pompano, small flounder, puppy drum, black drum, & blues.

In the surf pompano, Virginia mullet, a few red & black drum, bluefish, blowfish, some small flounder, & speckled trout.

Inshore lots of gray trout, speckled trout, bluefish, flounder, red & black drum, black bass, pigfish, & a few spots.

Offshore on the bottom black bass, red & gag grouper, scampi, grunt, snapper, & ringtail.

Fishing tip of the week: Blowfish or some call them pufferfish are one of my favorite fish to eat. For those of you that have never tried blowfish you won’t believe how nice the meat looks & taste. This fish is very easy to clean. Make a 1/4 inch cut at the back of the head. Then slide a finger under the skin toward the back of the fish. You will see a large white chunk of meat. Just invert the fish, & bam there it is. Try it you’ll be glad you did. Keep fishing & stay safe.
